My mistakes

I have made so many mistakes in Spanish, of course, some of them I don't even know what they are. My favorite one was when I was talking to my neighbor. Connie (my mother-in-law) was outside with her dogs and the neighbor asked about the dogs and I said they were mi seguras, which is the word for insurance. Of course, she looked at me strangely and then very nicely corrected me; suegra. I have made the mistake before, but only to my spanish teachers in the States. The good thing about this mistake is I think I finally learned my lesson. Those two words have always gotten mixed up in my brain. Plus, we got a good laugh out of it. Live and learn.
